Truth to Honor Charlie Kirk

“All death can do to a believer is deliver him to Jesus.” – Charlie Kirk

If you never heard of Charlie Kirk, or never listened to his arguments and presentations, you cannot know Charlie Kirk, or assess his knowledge or opinions. If you hate him, you are merely judgmental, ignorant, and prejudicial.

One thing mainstream Americans do is “side up,” holding opinions based on indirect sources. FOX or MSNBC tell us what to think, and we do. If Schumer and McConnell disagree, we side with Chuck or Mitch, even without any idea whether we believe, believe in, or like them. These days, a newly self-appointed assassin and killer has fans, too. Maybe he was appointed. Either way, he answered the call.

So I thought about honor. The greatest honor we can give someone is to listen to him, and share his truth where we find it, continuing to live by the principles we most respect. Throughout the Bible, starting in Exodus with the rock tablets Moses brought down, we hear, “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.

Just as mother and father can be a kind, productive couple or vicious, drunken reprobates, so can our neighbors and governors. How do we honor them? One of Charlie Kirk’s encounters was with a young woman whose broken home included parents from opposite political ideologies. It was among the best advice Charlie gave. He said, “Honor them both, speak to them often, search for truth, and decide for yourself as you follow Jesus.”

Charlie was 31 when he went home. He said, “If you believe in something, you need to have the courage to fight for those ideas – not run away from them or try and silence them.” He said, “What God wants from me is a life fighting for truth.”

“It is part of our human nature to want to be liked,” Charlie said. “It is part of our human nature to worry about what others think of us. It is an attribute of greatness and of American exceptionalism to not surrender to our nature, but to be guided by an inner calling to persevere and to prevail, no matter the personal cost.”

Tyler Robinson will now most likely grovel in institutions designed for the evil, bowing to strict governing authorities. He will be denied the use of his intelligence until he certainly answers in dishonor for hatred, foolishness, and wasteful consumption. First here, and then again before God Almighty.

I can forgive Tyler Robinson, and pray for him. He is now where he worked to be, on a forced march toward his chosen Hell.
